Friday - More Mindfulness
Our focus today was on exploring mindfulness by focusing on using our senses.
The first activity (for the morning teams) was to mindfully enjoy a cup of tea. Students were encouraged to slow down and consider the experience from all 5 of their senses.
sight: ex. notice how the water changes color
sound: ex. the noises of boiling water
smells: ex. choosing the tea based on fragrance
tastes: ex. mmmm, obvious
touch: ex. the warmth of the cup in your hands
While we didn't get to watch this video, I do think the info is great.

Our second activity was to make Sensory Putty, the recipe was based off of the formula presented at https://sciencebob.com/make-some-starch-slime-today/
and allowed students to explore their senses in a creative way.
They added colors to match their desired emotions:

and chose an essential oil to add as well.
