Martin Luther King Jr Observation (No School Today)

"The Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday celebrates the life and legacy of a man who brought hope and healing to America. We commemorate as well the timeless values he taught us through his example — the values of courage, truth, justice, compassion, dignity, humility and service that so radiantly defined Dr. King’s character and empowered his leadership. On this holiday, we commemorate the universal, unconditional love, forgiveness and nonviolence that empowered his revolutionary spirit." - Coretta Scott King, The Meaning of The King Holiday

Tuesday

Continue in Photoshop

We continued in photoshop, adding on images to our photoshop skills portfolio. Our focus today was on learning how to deal with masking fine details such as hair. For this we masked as usual, but then relied on Photoshop for the heavy lifting, by accessing the Edge Refinement feature for our mask.

Wednesday

Teambuilding

Because this Wednesday was a half day, only half of the 7th grade student visited today (the Krueger/Young/Sewell), and next week the Gagen/Brower team will visit.

See the details of the activities in the slideshow below.

Thursday

Continue in Photoshop

Our focus today was to work to complete some of the skills we have been working on. Students were asked to update their portfolios with the first 3 hippo images, and the horse image.

See a sample of how student portfolios should look here.

Friday

We began our lesson with a short video about the cardio vascular system.

Students worked in teams to complete the worksheet below, by filling in the blanks with info they learned.
