Welcome 7th-grade parents and families,

Plugged Unplugged will be your child’s second-semester exploratory class this year. For more information on the course (including syllabus) check out my digital portfolio. In short, this course will be a hybrid of computer technology/media mixed with health and wellness. Students are expected to come to school dressed appropriately for physical activity every day - this simply means wearing comfortable clothing that permits them freedom to move and which promotes a safe and friendly environment for all students. T-shirts, athletic shorts, gym shoes with rubber soles and tie-up laces are recommended. On our first day, the first thing I shared with students was my list of priorities, so I will share them with you as well. In order, my priorities are:

1. student safety (physical and emotional)

2. safety of our supplies (gear, computers, tables etc.)

3. students learn something

This means that until we can guarantee that everyone and everything is safe and cared for within our space, we can't even begin to think about learning all of the great content we have planned for your children. But once we know that everyone/thing is safe, the sky is the limit as to what we can achieve and where we can go from there. With this in mind I have created a form so that you can share any important physical/medical information you feel I may need to know so that I can help to keep your child happy and safe here at HTM.
